Why do family members always "assume" the worst of someone in their family?  In my family, my mother is constantly talking somebody down.  Now, I know from my therapy that if someone is constantly putting other people down, it is often because they have no or low self-esteem and the only way they can feel good about themselves is to put others down.  But why must they accuse me of wanting to be abused and say that I deserved every one of the mroe than 20 assaults I endured?  Why are family members the ones to say, "Oh just get over it!!! and stop dwelling on it!!!"  When they can't get past the fact their brother or sister didn't stop in to see them one day and then are mad when they stopped in another day?  I just don't get it?  Does anybody really get it???

Sincerely confused,
Sheri Adams
