Why do I feel so cranky lately? Where is everyone?

Right here. Seems there's been a bit of that going around, from general unwellness to flat out bad moods. Luckily, I seem to be resistant to both.

Now, if only I was a bit more resistant to heat...been a good 105 F for most this past week, and I've had a lot of outdoor projects to do.

Well I told you I wanted to pick a fight with you or anyone else for that matter today , so that will answer your question about me?  The atmosphere is overwhelming in here of late with all the sadness, and the heat outside is getting to me too, so perhaps that has something to do with it?  I get this way, when I feel helpless, or tired, and know the signs well, so I also know it will pass.

Hope you are better soon too.

I need `10 people who want to buy a house in Florida..think of it as a time share opportunity. If we get a big enough one, two or more of you can stay here at one time. The only condition is that I have to LIVE here.....sometimes desperation leads to inspiration....I need a place of my own so bad that even the CAR looks good to me...sigh.

Be careful what you wish for , ask Nan, I lived with her for darn near a month - seen here around lately LOL?  She could be in some upstate hospital for the insane who knows?  Now if that didn't get her attention I don't know what would.

Sharon, I have to say that buying a place this way is not such a bad idea actually, you live there all year and maintain it, and the lazy folks just come once in a little while and mess it up. Does that sound fair?

If I can talk enough people into it, I'd have enough money to hire a maid so I wouldn't CARE if it got messy - or make the rule that at least ONE person has to be a clean fanatic....

As far as the question "where is everyone?"

ive noticed that i reply to poems in teen, and no activity goes on in there until HOURS later...and that activity involves maybe one or two more posts.

I remember, back in the day, when i couldn't keep up and I burned out! Too many poems, too many people, we needed deputy mods (i was one of the first LOL! memoriezzz)!!

so where is everyone?
im gonna totally take the teen forum by storm and shake them all up. They need a wake up call! Any suggestions?

I left my wallet in El Segundo...
And I gotta get it
I got got to get it!

Sometimes...all it takes is a place to call your own to make a difference in your life. And an office to spread out in..and a 'garden window'....and a Florida room that looks out over a wilderness preserve...life is good.

And pigs DO fly...don't you remember 'Pigs in Space' on the Muppet Show???

Not sure what you mean Nan?

I was trying to say that I've finally found a home...boy it's such a relief!!! Now maybe I can start writing again...I'm getting VERY positive feedback from the people at work and they don't even KNOW me!!

(Had a 30 day review and my boss was going over the qualifications and he said 'we don't know much about your written or oral skills yet'...I said "no one has asked me to do anything orally yet"...OMG...we laughed so hard I thought I'd cry!!! Good thing he has a sense of humor!!)

It is 90 degrees there it says on CNN and thunder showers all week, that doesn't seem good to me but what do I understand.  I can't figure why people even want to live in climates with that high heat anyway.  But ... I heard wind of another one of those natural concoctions we don't get up here arising, is that true?

If so, did you really check out that building you work in and hide supplies for this type of announcement - everyone run!  Having absolutely no knowledge of these storms except they make a lot of mess, and a lot of poor people virtually homeless, I wondered how long they last?  If it is more than a few hours, I would think underground would be safer than on ground.  So, I was thinking now that you live in the path of these things a good investment with your new found happiness would be a first class spade to dig a dang deep hole like someone did in the Middle East, but then again, I read he got caught too didn't he? Just kidding, and worried, no news in my books does not necessarily mean good news, so trying to find out the status down there in your thread - sneaky huh?

It looks like Frances is heading this way...see that big lake in the state of Florida? I'm to the right of that....about 10 miles from the ocean...

Not sure yet what we'll do, we have a couple of options. Hurricanes are funny, they have a mind of their own and can veer off in any direction...for instance, Charlie was supposed to hit Tampa so they evacuated..but it didn't. It hit farther south and it was a surprise...

So..we are waiting for tomorrow to see if they can better predict where it will go..if it's on it's way here, I'm packing my cat and heading north...if it's too hard to predict and it's too late to leave, we'll head for my work...it's hurricane proof.

I love it here though. Every day there's rain...I've seen more in 5 months here than in 20 years in Arizona!!

I enjoy my mundane job..I don't get migraines...and soon, I'll have my own place...with my own office...and then? I'm going to write....and write...and write..and write.

Don't worry if you don't hear from me...sometimes I like to 'hermitize' myself.

Ummm, in answer to your first question the fact that a ton of Florida just got blown to smithereens could possibly contribute to this.  Backing up a bit though, moving across country from a desert to an oasis where you have no home, no job, your entire life is piled in boxes at a storage facility, and then someone (not mentioning any names) does a rain dance, causing you to meet Charlie, then his friend Francis, and possibly now Ivan could be part of it.  Then again, the fact that the stuff you put in storage could now be soaken wet due to Francis, and the home you put an offer on before the "wind" blew in could look a tad different now might also contribute maybe?  See, what would make me grouchy down there is wondering where did all the alligators float too?  Gee, that was actually a dumb question now that I think about it. Now I know you know I am just kidding.  What's more I am praying all of you are getting back on your feet somewhat, and bracing for anything else coming your way, stay tuned please.

All is safe here..Ivan better stay away...the condo is ok, I'll see it and my stuff in storage tomorrow....I'm working 7 days a week and getting yelled at by the public...I'm afraid I'll need a police escort to get to my car each day!

Why does stress make some people act like jerks???

I'm beginning to think this 'life changing' stuff is not for me....sigh. What else can go wrong? I'm getting a bit discouraged here....and can't find time or a computer to write..which sucks.

Well ... I could always visit?            Ahhh, just kidding, honest.  As for stress making people jerks, well, that makes perfect sense that they are giving you all such a hard time considering your area of expertise, and what is crawling around in the sewers down there!
I think right about now that would be making me a tad stressed out and cranky too.  Sure makes a body wonder where its safe to sit down if you get ma drift?         It will get better, and glad to hear about the condo, and hope your stuff is dry.  And get some much needed rest if you can. Until next time, your "#1 fan" thanks you kindly for checking in.  The good news is that motherboards are not too expensive by the way, about $50.

Gee whiz, not again? I saw the news and people are boarding up again?  What is that now, 3 times?   If I lived like this I would move instantly, and vacation there.  I would make sure all hands were on deck to put up a huge fence keeping everyone out of that area until safe season only, then only allow tents   for there are no shutters needed see the logic yet?  Humans are funny creatures when they search for Paradise I guess.  Boy, and I thought a winter of off and on again rain was a was a bad thing, I was SO wrong!

Again...I am very worried
