I believe in spirits. I think if given the chance, I would be able to talk to them because I'm very much in tune with the spirit world. I can stand a foot away from someone and feel the heat of their aura! I am intuitive. I can sometimes predict the future. For instance, I knew I would reply to this question. What more proof do you need?

Spirits are all around us... We're simply not in tune with their energy level - and they have better things to do than follow us around, don'tcha think?

A neighbor of mine has dropped by several times in the last couple of weeks. If he says anything I don't hear it....just seems to like being around somebody who knows he's there and accepts him.

I believe he's waiting for his wife, who is in declining health. He a good old guy, and it would be just like him to do that....and just like him to drop in on me, as he has this morning -- Hi, Bob! Good to, uh, not see you....

I'm pretty sure I AM one.

I couldn't help myself.

Seriously, I am very 'spirited', and hear and say and do things that come to me 'out of the blue' that I'm not truly responsible for (LOL).
My muse, for instance, gifts me little treasures once in a while, and I'm not sure why she/he is so kind.

Does that answer the basic Q's?

Once, I saw a man silhouetted in the doorway of a many roomed cellar. I saw no detail because he was back-lit. I didn't expect anyone else to be there, so I waved t him in greeting and he waved back. Shortly, I discovered no one else WAS there.

Another time, I was preparing food for a wedding reception in the kitchen of an old mansion that was being rented for the event. Over my shoulder I caught sight of a slender young woman wearing a long gown (not an unusual thing to see when you're expecting wedding guests)As I turned to address her, she just sort became insubstantial and faded away. (I mentioned her to the person that over-saw the mansion and was told the there was indeed a spirit that resided there)

Later, Louise and I shared a house with someone that we couldn't see, but could hear quite well. You could follow the footfalls of that spirit down the hall, hear it enter the room you were in....right up to where you were sitting! ("It" (as I never got a feeling for gender), would constantly untie my shoes while I was wearing them)

Well, those are my "ghost stories" and I'm stickin' to 'em.

Okay, okay..

When I was about 4 or 5, I lived with my grandmother. Her house had a really long hallway full of pictures, and at the end was her bedroom and the bathroom.

To the left of the bathroom was a mirror that covered the remainder of wall between the bathroom and her bedroom..

Once, I was watching tele in her room and it must've been about 10pm.. I saw MYSELF come out of the mirror and walk down the hall..

Unfortunately, I've never forgotten this.. I never will.. It was wearing a long t-shirt, the kind I'd sleep in, and I didn't get up to see if it was still there after it'd walked by the doorway.. I was petrified..

A long time after that, when I was 15, I'd seen myself again.. I never really understood why these ghostly images always looked exactly like me..

We bought an old  2 story house that was built in 1920. I kept seeing a little girl and boy. They would just be rounding the corner of the upstair landing. I'd jump up and run up stairs to see who it was. They would always be gone by the time I'd get upstairs. Finally I quit trying to catch them and would just see them running up the stairs. One night my husband & I were watching TV and I saw them going upstairs, I looked over at my husband and he said, did you see that. We finally learned that each other had been seeing them but neither wanted to tell the other one. Didn't want others to think we were crazy.  He never saw them again but I did. Years later after our kids moved on we sold the house, our middle son wanted to know what was going to happen to the ghosts that lived there. We had never mentioned ghost to our kids. He said he use to always see them in the house, but never outside.

I have lots of ghosts in my past....hehe,

...do I believe in Ghosts?
I do beleive in spiritual presenses.  I have two instances that have made me more aware that maybe us solid folks aren't the only ones here.

Once when my son was about 2, we lived in an old house and I was getting ready for work, and normally I kept up a baby gate between the living room and the bathroom.  That day, as days often were, I was running late and little baby was crying and whining and didn't want mama out of his site, so I took the gate down and let him shadown me through the house.  I was in the bedroom, and I had forgotten to pull the plug from the bath tub and let the water out from my bath.  It got really quiet, and then I heard my son giggling and splashing water.  Horrified, I ran into the bathroom, and there he say...waist deep in water, playing his little heart out.  Nothing ghostly about that you say...Well, this was on old timey foot style tub, and there is no way that a two year old could've gotten in that tub without falling in head first.  And there was nothing wet on him but his legs, and his waist.  Who put him in ther so safely?  A good ghost that was helping a tired mom with that little courious boy?  Or an angel that was watching over both of us?

Next time, was when I met my hubby.  He lived in an old house that a man had died in some years before.  You would have to know that life had kicked my hubby pretty hard and he had become a loner of sorts.  He worked all the time and when he wasn't working he sat there alone staring out the window.  He told me that he heard and felt things in the house sometimes, and I laughed it off.  Well, one night I stayed over and about three a.m. I woke up and sat straight up in bed because for a breif moment I was *freezing*.  I nudged him and asked him if he was cold and he said no.  I got up and walked through the house and no matter where I went it was IceLand.  Finally, my hubby got up and came into the living room where I was sitting and told me that when he first moved there, the same thing happened to him.  He said that he ignored it, and it went away.  Well, it never worked that easily for me.  I thought that we were both insane.  A couple of years after we moved, they owners decided to tear the house down.  I was close with the lady that owned it and she told me that when the demolition crew came out to level the house, one of the men went in to check on something, and he came out and told her that it was freezing in there.  It was the middle of August and the air conditioner had not ran for months.  That convinced me that something was there.  Maybe we were in a 'cold zone' or something.  Either way, I say we all beleive in something.  Who is to say that there isn't a place in between where things get stuck?

Okay, whew....that one wore me out.  Thanks Gem for the finger workout this morning!

I've never seen a ghost but I've felt the presence of something twice before and in exactly the same way. I felt the other side of the bed push down as if someone was sitting on the edge of it and at the room or I went icy cold. Another time i was in a pretty bad state..in a rage as i walked to my bedroom ifelt the presence of well rage..evil (see thats when i think of the scientific explanation, it was a manifestation of my emotion) regardless scared the crap out of me and i was no longer in a rage too busy hiding under the covers

well I believe in them...

the only real thing that ever happened to me, was when my Aunt Sue passed, we went to her service, and I was a wreck, because I was worried over her, missing her, all that...that night, I was tucking my son in, and he was upset about her, and I was in the process of trying not to start crying all over again, telling him she was in a better place, then I felt her, right there and she kissed me on my forehead, I then "saw" her, and there was a man, with her, but not right next to her, and she smiled at me. In my heart, I knew she was ok.

I've had de ja vu's (spelling?) before though, lol does that count? The first one was when I was fairly young, like the first grade, and I went on this field trip, looking at old things, and pictures, I don't even remember exactly where the field trip was to(my cousin thinks it was this gold mine place that is by where I used to live), but I looked up at this really large probably full size picture of a man, and I knew him...and was terrified of him...it shook me to my core...I didn't say anything to anyone about that. I didn't know how to even explain it. As I got older and found out there was a name for what happened, then it wasn't so scary. I actually like it when that happens.

ok, lol that's all I got...

Hey Sea, YES de ja vu's are wonderful.  My husband and I have a friend that lives in the country and the road leading to her house is like the longest road in SC (or it seems that way), anyhoo, several times we have traveled that road and each time he said that this house in the woods (which was barely visible from the road)and it reminded him of something, and it was like he knew something about this house.  Each time we neared it, he would get these big goose bumps on his arms, and to tell you the truth it gave me the willies!  Anyway, one day we got to talking to his mom and she told him a story about running from her abusive husband (Tim's dad) years ago, and the house that they lived in during that time in her life was the ONE that we had been passing.  However, Tim was only 6 or 8 months old during this, and there is no way that the could have remembered that house or felt so strongly each time we passed it.
I feel much better now when we make that trip, because I know that his soul can rest now that he knows why that house was so important in his life.

My ex-mother-in-law used to tell me that babies have a very strong sense of intuition and that any time a child gets a "gut feeling" from another person, or is scared of that person from first meeting them, chances are...the babies intuition is dead on!

Okay, done for now!

I was over at one of Gary's cousins house where she used to live one day. Nobody was there but me and her. We were sitting in the living room talking and all of a sudden I thought I heard the commode in the bathroom flushing. I didn't say anything, then a little while later I heard it again. I asked her what that was and she said it was the commode flushing. She said that it happened all the time. She said some old man had died in that house. She said one day she heard him in the kitchen and she went in there and she could feel a presence. She said it made her mad and she told him to get out of there and leave her and her family alone. She said she didn't hear or feel him anymore after that except when the commode would flush.

Anyway, she's moved from there now. By the way, before that I never heard it, but now the commode here flushes when no-one is in there. I wonder if he followed me home?? LOL

Actually,I have to possibly amend my first reply...
Shortly after my Dad was called Home, I had one last conversation with him. My mother and my ex think I was dreaming, and I know for an absolutel fact that it wasn't a dream (I have had dreams about him, and this wasn't even close).
So, if you put seeing Dead relatives while you're not in a fully conscious state, then, I haev seen a ghost. If you don't, then I still haven't.

Well, this is what my mother tells me...

When I was two, my father died. My mom kept his wedding ring, and wore it on her thumb. Some nights later my Dad woke my mom up in the night and stood at the edge of her bed. He demanded his ring back, and was quite stern about it...I don't know the full conversation, or anything, but my mom says that I started screaming from my crib "WHAT'S WRONG?! WHATSA MATTER?!" over and over again, and when she came in the room I was standing up, hanging onto the bars of the crib, pulling back and forth...

When I was about 11 I decided I should stop "talking" to him. That it was silly and stupid. I stopped going to his grave. It wasn't until just this September that I visited his grave for the first time in years.
Ever since then, for a few days, I kept feeling this strong urge to go back. I didn't know why. I thought I'd said everything I needed to say. When I asked my mother if she'd take me to my dad's grave (can't drive yet), she said no, and the urgent feeling stopped...That's about as much as a good spirit I've felt since I was 11.
Bad spirits...well...that's something I don't like remembering.

My mom says she can hear them. That they speak to her. I've never heard a spirit...Only felt it. Sort of like a big swelling inside me, when it's a loved one...But then again, I'm still waiting for that old feeling to come back...Guess I've got some apologies to make...

I do not know whether I was then a man dreaming I was a butterfly, or whether I am now a butterfly dreaming I am a man.

Never had any personal contact with a ghost but I have felt a spirit's presence before. Just my opinion but I believe there is a difference between spirits and ghosts, ghosts being the undying part (soul if you will) of a human being and spirits being creatures that have never lived in the flesh (angels if you will, be they dark or light)
Still I do believe in ghosts but I'm not sure if I want to see/feel one...

Can't say I've ever seen, felt or heard a ghost but the people who claim they have do tell fascinating stories. I've always been drawn to ghost stories for some reason, I can't explain it but I search online for ghost stories all the time. So, I guess you could say I believe that it is possible that there are spirits among us.

and gem? where is your story/stories? huh, huh... I got all the way to the end and I was so disappointed LOL
