Is is possible that a writer could take so long to write their novel that by the time they're ready to get it published, someone else has come up with the same plot? Could their novel (I'm sure it would be poorly written) then make MINE obsolete?

(I better start writing!)

If that happens to me I'll be truly amazed. My book is a little... off... heh.

And if you're worried, start writing! (Note to self: Good advice. Start writing. )
