What do I want? Honestly? This... ability... to make the people I love comfortable, accepting and content with themsevles. I want to be able to just blink and give them happiness of self; I want them to love themselves. I want that to apply to me as well. Dammit, I'm so... so SICK of watching the people I love suffer because of this idiot notion that somewhere along the way gets shoved into their brains that they cannot be content or happy just by BEING. And to those of you that read this and know that I am speaking of or around you... realize I will never, never tire of hearing of your troubles or woes in their every form... and to never second-guess sending me any rant or rave or even, especially lol self-pitying letter... I love you for it, for every inch of you, and dammit I WANT that... I am simply sharing my frustration of seeing these INCREDIBLE beings, these AWESOME, AMAZING PEOPLE so unhappy and I cannot do a thing about it, I cannot even give resolve. I want peace for all of you, happiness, LOL and DAMMIT if just for one day, the ability to whisk away to anywhere in the world and just BE there for whomever needs it. Merry Christmas Acies, Increasing humidity in the air may help. A vaporizer and a steamy shower are two ways to increase the humidity. Drink extra fluids to help thin secretions and make them easier to cough up. Glyceryl guaiacolate (guaifenesin, such as in Robitussin) is available without prescription and may help liquefy the mucus. Drink lots of fluids if taking this medication. When a cold and a stuffy, runny nose accompany the cough, it is often caused by mucus dripping down the back of the throat. A decongestant that opens the nasal passages will relieve this postnasal drip and is the best treatment for that type of cough. Decongestants such as phenylephrine, pseudoephedrine, phenylpropanolamine, or combinations of all three are available as over-the-counter cold medications. If hypertensive, consult your doctor before taking decongestants. Coughs due to chronic postnasal drip are probably caused by either sinus infection or allergy. If allergy is the cause, avoid whatever is causing the allergy and take antihistamines. Dry, tickling coughs can be relieved by sucking on cough lozenges or hard candy. Codeine is a very effective cough suppressant but has some negative side effects and requires a prescription. Dextromethorphan (such as in Vick's Formula 44) is an effective cough suppressant that is available without prescription. K: Thought you would . Christmas is going to come, even if we don't want it to...if we're not in the mood (me) or not ready (me) or just plain too depressed to care (me)....it's not a holiday just for the giving of gifts. Although most people concentrate on that side of it or so it seems...being alone this year has made ME reflect on how I celebrate the season.
