I've felt so BLAH this summer that I've been absent from here a lot...I'm really looking forward to fall and cooler weather, maybe that will lift my spirits.

Several other people in my department have been feeling the same way...like there is no reason to be excited about anything..have you felt that this summer?

I dislike the summer.  Winter > Summer, always... I'm glad to see the fall approaching.  Back to school means more to do, and cooler weather.  Always a favourite time of year.

Summer doldrums??-- I guess that is something that is more likely to strike you in desert country.

I LOVE SUMMER.. the rest of us get the winter doldrums....

There is society where none intrudes, by the deep sea, and music in its roar.

I'm with you. I hate Summer. It drives me insane. Although we are yet to experience it, I'm dreading each day it draws near. Spring isn't too bad though. It's killer fashion time.

summer's usually ok. . . but, for some reason, this summer was different. . . I don't know why. . . but, it will all be better soon. . .

Why I hate summer -

Insects.
Humidity.
Heat.
How dirty everything seems (not to mention how sweaty everyone is).
The "It's a beautiful day outside, go get some fresh air" speech.
Mosquitos, which don't fall under the insect category as in Manitoba they are more similar to birds.
City laws about public nudity. (*grumble*)
Sunburn.
People calling me asking if I want to "go do something" (outside?  I should smack ya).
People who have no right to wear skimpy clothing doing so.
All the kids from my school that hate me who just happen to be working at mcdonalds for the summer, and just happen to be making MY big mac (*grumble grumble*).
And a thousand other things... I will leave a few for some other people though.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

Yes, I felt that way for most of the summer. Didn't post, didn't read, didn't write, and I didn't care that I wasn't doing any of those things!!!

I'll admit I much prefer Spring and Autumn, but will probably still be sorry to see Summer wane in Michigan. In Summer, it doesn't seem to snow as much here. At least I haven't noticed any snow, though in Michigan you can never be absolutely sure of anything about the weather. When I tell someone, "I haven't been snowed in this Summer," I have to very quickly add a "yet" on the end so as not to jinx this great streak of good luck.

Hot and humid sucks, but I don't have any problem driving through it.

Oh, I quite like Summer, when it is a bit cooler though, not sort of 30 degrees.. too hot for me. The bad things are that I get hayfever, and feel faint in the heat, and the sun hurts my too-sensitive eyes, BUT, I can go to the beach, and it doesn't rain on my outdoor activities, most ppl are in nicer moods, tonnes of flowers, lots of colours.. yep. It's great. Spring weather is kinder though.

Summer? It lasted approximately one week when the a/c went out.

But actually? Don't know if this is the season? Or if I should just blame it on the moon.....but this particular period of my life? Not just doldrums...IT SUCKS.

I live in Florida and LOVE the summer for the beach and fun in the sand. However, the sharks are swarming the coast so it's not much fun being pursued by one of those nasty things!
I once kicked a jellyfish that was drifting in shallow water. I thought it was a plastic bag.
The beach is great but watch for things that sting!
Then we have our West Nile Virus mosquitoes that attack as soon as the sun goes down.
What else is great about summmer...you get to sweat, ALOT!

I think I'm ready for cooler weather.

too many, acire, too many leaves.. =P WELL you're a Mr Grumpybum then, aren't you!   Heh, maybe we should create a season just for acire.. it's called the not-to-hot-and-humid-not-to-cold-not-too-much-rain-or-too-many-leaves-to-rake season.
aw, you should come to NZ, Spring isn't any of those, and Summer is nice usually..

LMAO@Blooming Rose.
I've made the same idiodic mistake with a jellyfish. Except I was fascinated with what I thought was a lil Ziplock baggy, so naturally, I was trying to catch it. Leave it to me.
ANYWAY!
I love all the season to an extent. I think Fall is my favorite though.
Spring, is too rainy.
Winter is too bloody cold. (Though snow is pretty)
Summer is FAR too humid.
Fall...
Fall is just gorgeous. The leaves changing, the crisp cool air...Oh, I love it.

You wouldn't worry about what people thought about you if you knew how seldom they did.
