In a couple of months PiP Forums will celebrate it's second anniversary on the Net. What can we do to celebrate this momentous occasion?

Any ideas?

We could contact members who haven't posted in a long time:

Danny Holloway
SeaOfOKC

both come to mind..and there are LOTS more..

what else?

Paul Hoekman doesn't post here any more...same with Elvira...

Each member could invite one other person to join the forums. I'm sure not everyone invited will do so, but we can try!

Have a big party here in Family Dialogue.

Encourage non-senior members to post more so they can come to the party.

Write a special poem in commemoration of the event!

We should reply here with the name of the person we're going to contact.

and I've tried to do this before, but would love to see an 'official' Pip Greeting card...maybe it could be added to the graphics on the Ecard area so we can send an official card for birthday's, anniversaries..or even a 'where the heck have you been' card....

I like both ideas

1. contact lost members
2. invite new members

I'm game

You know I was going through the photo gallery yesterday, and noticed how many haven't posted in about a year. I was surprised!

One joined for like a week, and that was the last they posted.

We need to get Jer back here!!!!!

It would also be cool if we could somehow have a massive ICQ chat with, like, everyone in Passions! Is that even possible?

A massive chat?? That would be far too... well... massive.
And large chatrooms are not a lot of fun.
Maybe we could write a huge collaborational poem, line by line, with each member writing only one line?
Haha... now that would be nuts...
Just a thought.

What can we do to let the world know about this fantastic place???

**note: I nominated Ron as the person I most admire, to carry the Olympic Torch part of the way to Salt Lake City. I'm hoping that among the millions of nominations, they'll read about the passion he instilled in us (for poetry) and will include him...I think those chosen carry it for a short distance, but still..it's a part of history!!!

Ok Sharon I am so sorry for asking you this....but it has to do with your previous reply.....Do we really want the WORLD to know about this wonderful place? I mean, I know you meant a LOT of people and not the complete world, but still.....
For our Anniversary, do we want to expand our advertisement of the site, or do we want to thank the actual members of the site?

Well yea, it IS a good idea, but how about current members.....we should do something. Damn.....Sharon I don't think people are contributing to this issue like they should. There should be a lot more members coming in here and help us. Maybe post a link of this somewhere special. I really think this should be addressed.
I'm leaning to doing something for our current members that contribute a lot....something for new members....finding old members.....blab la.....i don't know

I honestly haven't a clue... but I'll agree with Javier.  We all found this place by our own means.  *kisses Altavista*  Do we really want the whole world to know about it?  It's the one thing that I have going for me in life that's constant... I don't want it to change in the least.  Unnecessary change bothers me.

What about something to do with the newsletter - I dunno, I have a couple ideas, that like Javier said - include the members, both past and present...maybe something like a "this is your life" for Ron in DigitalP?  Something that highlights works from past and present, different authors, articles that compare and contrast the two.  How much we've grown, that kind of thing.  Kinda see where I'm going with this?

Whatcha think?

I'll disagree with that...... we don't need a bunch of sulky people in here that feel obliged.  People left for their own reasons, we shouldn't breathe down their necks about it.

Sharon, I think that's a great idea.. I think that we should definitely invite old members back.. it's just not the same without some of them.. of course, not all will come back.. I think, perhaps, if we do have some friends, ppl we know that write.. we should invite them to join too, but I don't think we should go over board and have every member inviting someone, I think perhaps that would be a bit of an overload.. I joined here because of a friend who told me of this place.. tho, he doesn't write here any more..
The card is a perfect way to invite them back.. tells them of the occasion, kindof a personalised, friendly FAMILY welcome..

Hehe, and yes, we should buy some confetti..
: .. . ..  . . .. . ; ; :
. :. ;" ... . ; : .. . : .
... .. . . ...  That should about do it..

Yeah, anyway, I think that's a great idea.. I'll see if I can come up with some design.. tho, I'm not exactly a wiz with computer designing.. ^_^

May to June, the time is now
In the twilight, poets stand!
See the masses, take a bow!
Sit, to every clapping hand!
In this evening, where art thou?
Not among the mass applause?
Gone, a loss to all our cause?

Poets turn, and poets frown
In their seats, too many free
Every poet sitting down
Come now, where could they all be?
Everyone is still not here!
So come now, what have you to fear?

On this day, we summon you
Forward, comerade, poet true

Passions burns, with poet spore
In our dreams, a glitt'ring ore
Pieces back in place, once more

(haha... ok... maybe not  )

Nearly two years on the web, this site has grown and changed--
New members added everyday, some forums rearranged.
We welcome everyone who comes and hope that they will stay.
But some decide to leave, we wonder why they've gone away.
So if you're one of these, we miss you! Come back and stay awhile.
Drop us a line or post a poem, for that will make us smile.
Here's hoping that you stick around a bit longer this time,
So come on back to Passions, and join us in our rhyme!

(Or free verse, or blank verse, or prose, or whatever's your cup of tea!)
