the spice of life
in a garden overgrown
you reap a crop
that last year was sown

will it be bitter
as the past can be
only time will tell
just wait and see

left alone, untended
it fights to live anew
it's gardens life less
for the likes of me and you

Nicely written of course..

It's good that last year's garden frequently yields perennial blooms, I'm thinking..

Nice to see you writing again, Sharon.  Not sure what last year's garden has to offer you, but it's got to be better than just the barren weeds of no garden at all right?  And the great thing about memories is, you can pick and choose which ones you want to cling to.     Pick up the pen again, soon.  We've missed ya!
