Between the Lines

Long Overdue

Bent over in ragged thought
rereading to understand
this maze of mental hopping
as I stand a wallflower
to the knowledge of...

Lost in second impressions
vision tainted, colors leaving
run-on effects
as eyes see uneven blending
uninspired by another's words...

I stand on record, breaking
line after line, challenged
by years of giving and fantasy living.
A poet-not, but one who feels,
listens, seeks to balance
a life turned upside down...

At a loss for why troubled turns
have overlapped and folded upon myself
sometimes bringing me to knees
too worn to hold me up...
wondering where my sister is
at this moment
of need~~

Beautiful poem-- I especially liked:

"as I stand a wallflower
to the knowledge of..."

I'm not sure why, but the elipsis there made that line really powerful for me.

Dear Nakdthoughts,

Thanks for your honesty.  I was more struck by the quot at the close of the page by Will Moss.  I would change the ending in this quot.

"Love is not blind. It sees more and not less, but because it sees more, it is willing to close the mouth on the wrong!"

I am sorry for the misspelled word of quote.

Deeply moving poem.  So sorry you feel overwhelmed.  I too have been at the place of on your knees but they cannot hold you up.  It sounds like you have lost a sister or she has been out of your life for too long and yet you need her.  Whatever your situation, I pray you find peace AND strength.

Blessings,
