~It should be so easy~

to pluck a pure melody from some cerulean sky,
lay it across an awaiting sheet of baby’s breath blue,
spin some sparkling stars ‘round in a poet’s passionate cry,
color the world in truths not lies, painted in a lover’s hue.

~It should be so easy~

to join hands, dance in delight,
‘round the sacred fire of life,
let go of all hate and strife,
hold onto someone tight tonight,
for hugs can set the whole world right.
Be part of a rainbow of diversity and light.

~It should be so easy~

*****
I am frustrated tonight with my inability to find a suitable rhyming word for life/strife...
LOL, woe is me?

Unbelievable!

As soon as I hit "submit reply" I heard shreiking from my daughter's room.

Let me put my striped shirt on, grab my whistle and go see what's going on now.

I do see what ya mean...

LOL, I only have one child
but grew up the middle nutcase of a big family
mom used to lock us all outside in the summer...
that's how I know about 'olive wars' and the need for branches of peace

Beautiful poem!!!  I loved this.  It should be so easy and yet it is the hardest thing to do.  Strange world we live in, but I am glad to have you in it to share your beauty in thought with us.  Great write!!!

Thank you for this reply, Sheri. I still struggle with the rhymes sometimes.
It's always a pleasant surprise to see something come back from the deep recesses of the blue. LOL.
