I hate the noises outside tonight.
It's the Fourth of July in the US of A.
Sigh.
I am not a flag waver,
nor do I stand behind my government,
or any other government for that matter.
I do, however absolutely love
the natural fireworks I see in the skies,
the ones gifted by mother nature
as she bursts forth in tremendous displays
of brilliant colors in the Oregon skies.
Holiday revelers on the Fourth
dream of rivaling nature's majesty,
but mostly just end up making too much noise,
producing stinky smells
and ugly smoke in the skies.
Some even manage to set themselves on fire
or carelessly blow off a digit or two.
SO please forgive me if I refrain
from reading and shouting alongside you
in the annual celebrations.
I am not a flag waver unless
I can wave it proudly,
and I do remember waving one
once or twice in my life.

Could you tell the difference between the internet photos of bombs bursting over Iraq or any other combat zone to some of the photos of the 4th celebrations?
Other than that the 4th ones were usually more colorful.
