Drink the soured wine
From the bottom of the barrel
Feel the dregs scrape
Against your clenching lips

Feel the heat of power
Flow within your frozen veins
But listen to my story
As you take restoring sips

What age is perfection?
If all is before its time
Who knows if there is an ending
To this unfinished rhyme

There are endless points to ponder for such a short, sweet verse here, Sharon. I dervive a grave sense of melancholy and hopelessness beneath the surface.

The perfect age is the age you are right now.  There is no getting younger, and you have no guarantee of getting older either.  Live for now.

There is always an ending but there's never need to rush it, is there?

Nice, humourous and pithy poem.

2+2=5 for sufficiently large values of 2
