Brambles tore her silken gown
As his words had torn her pride
Lust had shown her worth to him
As he took her as his bride

Tender flesh, raw from the night
Her feminine petals despoiled
As he slept she took flight
His nefarious plan now foiled

Her father sold her for the gold
To rebuild her family estate
But she now fled the clutches
Of he who would be her mate

Gasping now for a breath of air
She sunk to the leaf strewn ground
Think! She said to herself at last
Hide now, do not be found!

The sound of horses drew her up
She scrambled to her feet in fear
Looking for a place to hide
So he would not find her here

She spied a cave cut into a rock
And rushed to squeeze inside
She listened as the horses passed
She was now the Runaway Bride.

…to be continued

What an exciting story to come!! Very well done.. some wonderful descriptions, typical PDV greatness

Oh, make me Thine forever
And should I fainting be
Lord, let me never ever
Outlive my love for Thee

This is great Sharon, waiting on Part 2

Beauty of the world which is soon to perish has two edges, one of laughter and one of anguish, cutting the heart asunder.
(by Virginia Woolf)
