In an upside-down garden

It was the twisted branches
of her tree that spun him back.
Luster lures you in when you
are afraid of the dark.

Flash of aluminum promise to you
nothing the moon can't give
when she twists your words around
you wonder why you bother.

He once waited patiently
crying out into the dark
only after analyzing the possibility
of loneliness.

In the night she holds your hand
dives deep into your soul, she creeps
scratches at your thoughts
and thinks "wouldn't it be nice?"
