Escape me

oh you can try, but never will
earl grey mornings with friends
you filter through each wisp
of coffee morning scented air

polystyrene at my teeth
suck and blow, hot air curling
forgetting to stir my mind
clogged thick, cooling rapid

sting upon tongues tip
merely a distraction to my sip

spilled you over my soul

though not a mistake,

sank deeper than you know

absorbed
by how these earl grey mornings
miss you, but have you still.

Instant karma's gonna get you.

Memories played out in early mornings and teaspoons. If I want to be wired, I like Lifeboat or Lyons, myself.

Isn't it weird what gives us inspiration, and how something so small can bring back memories that we thought were no longer there?

Wonderful write!

subtle..different than most of your stuff. I keep remebering waking up in the city. I miss it there. The sky was grey..even at night. probably from all the lovely polution

insanity is not a crime

Gemma- I can almost taste the slight flavor of jasmine in this write... very well done.

Thanks for the relpies you guuuuys and gals.

It's funny how something so simple can remind you of a moment, the mentioning of tea, reminded me of a few moments in time, sat in a college canteen.

again, thanks for the return of my muse, i hear it was up to no good.

raph, most definately the second one. an odd friend.

Instant karma's gonna get you.
