Just Your Average Domestic Hero.

Hero dust
Sprinkled liberally on every act
Of the least importance

A hero I am
Needlessly honoured
virtue my reward

A great pretender
But still she insists
A hero I am
Of fitting light bulbs
And mending doors.

The kind of hero that every woman needs around the house. Very nice!

Oh, make me Thine forever
And should I fainting be
Lord, let me never ever
Outlive my love for Thee

Aww, aint' you just the little handyman? *grins evilly*  this is cute. I'm sure there's more to it than it seems (ie. dead pidgeon style), but it's still cute

Now 'Zu, I'm enjoying this.
I see a very elderly woman,
afraid to step up the small ladder,
for fear of falling, and breaking
a hip - or worse...

Oh yes, even the smallest of jobs
can require a hero of heart...

Smiling at you!

Erica: Thanks for the reply. I like to think that I can do my fair share of the chores

Rhonda: Thanks for the reply. You should probably know that my woodworking skills are almost non existent, I had to make a display case for a school project, I started to make a box to put shelves in but by the end of the term (Something like 20hrs of work) I had ended up with two L shaped pieces of wood, one of which was varnish and one of which was painted… lets just say I didn’t pass that module. Oh I’m not sure about this one being as “deep” as the dead pigeon poem but it’s certainly from the same ball park I think

Karilea: Thanks for the reply. As it happens you pretty much hit the nail on the head, for a moment I sort of understood how difficult it must be to do things that I take for granted when you are older.

This is really brilliant writing, Zu.  I really enjoyed reading this.

The concept of Hero dust is almost remniscent of Fairy dust.  Like one little sprinkle makes everything wonderful.  Maybe it's just me.

Woodworking is a difficult task, one I have never mastered, personally, but then again, I am still attempting to learn to cook properly.
