Offerings carved upon polished marble
a sacrifice of fatted calf is made
set upon the coals an aura unleased
draws slavering neighbours from their hiding

In the gleam of the gilded orb I pour
libations to gods of my own making
'round the kingly spread I sit in wonder
at the delirium of herbivores

no offense to herbivores intended.. grins

This is just wonderful writing, I can't remember reading any of your previous work but I now know what I am missing. Keep up the great work

I read it a couple of times and figured it was about BBQ.  Wish you hadn't spoiled it and I could have taken credit for the interpretation.  Oh well.  Guess that means I should just be hastier with my replies.

Very nice writing, Raph... see?  it's not so hard to write poetry now, is it?
