Well I'm glad that you said it, because otherwise I would have... and I don't know if I could have put it quite so nicely into poetry. It's definitely true, people accuse others of being persuasive or manipulative just because they happen to be less subtle about it... but everyone, from the police officer to the hooker on the street corner, uses it in some way or other.
Everybody's just out to satisfy their personal universe... it's why we happen to be persuasive--because we don't like a loss of control. We like the power to control every aspect of our lives, the roles that others play in it, and the feelings of the general populace towards us... it's nothing immoral, it's all a question of how good you are at causing people to think, or feel, a certain way...
Nicely written, Tramp Poet... thank you as always for contributing to Sanctuary.
Poets are the unacknowledged legislators of the world.
