Solace lost herself for certain.
She lays by her handmade grave,
trying with her ancient fingers
to find the warm sun again.

What she spoke, both sad and soft,
slumbers rain upon her bones.
Grown and tangled in dawn's hush,
she remains in music's rush.

Sustains crawl down from the sky,
but her sound is petal-blurred.
Silent water tumbles on.
Piano shapes her to a song.

Left-hand texture rumbles out,
building architectured skies.
Hanging buttresses and windows.
Pressing frames are pulling high.

Low and full, a deep-toned moment
takes the voice of clarity.
Melodies pulled from the deep
show old wants as smoke in trees.

Another movement and she knows
from low on the muddy ground
that her instrument will grow
as long as she lives in sound.

yes... nice work indeed...
as usual, I need several reads and some contemplation to delve into the depths of what it could mean... easy enough to see a couple, I just wonder what else lies under the surface...

enjoyed

Thank you, Ron. This, again, is a major revision of an older poem on this site, which was high on the melodrama and short on the wisdom. So I tried to bring it into a better balance. Sometimes I'm able to toss out old stuff without a second glance. And other times, I want to work on it again.

Always appreciate you taking the time to read my stuff. Work has been insane lately, and is going to stay at this fever pitch for a while (in fact, I'm "wasting" time by even visiting the forums today!)

Feel free to e-mail me, if you ever feel that I'm too slow to respond in PIP. b_squirrel@hotmail.com

I like the taste of this.  It strings around my teeth like a thin pasta, peppered just enough to water my eyes.

It's that burning feeling that I enjoy.  Bite after bite, a masterpiece.
