She sagged a bit around the edges
Blurring her age into a soft gray
And though they pretended to listen
They didnít know what she tried to say

Too quickly turning away from her pain
To look out the window at the sun
She watched in resignation again
She knew she was no longer Ďfuní

She wanted truth, they wanted lies
Painted with the brush of absolution
So she closed off the part of her heart
That held out for fabrication

She excused herself from their presence
Hidden tears falling behind her smile
And decided that the hermitís life
Would suffice her for a while.

Sure, it's melancholy, but the craft and description within this poem is wonderful.

Don't fret, PDV... this is the place for you.  I happen to think you're very fun.

The Hermit's life isn't so bad either.  You would be amazed how educational a bit of seclusion can be, really.  And it won't hurt you unless you go insane, and even then, insanity is the greatest of opiates.

It's true... the more you interact with people, the more they let you down. Depend on yourself, I suppose... but then again, sometimes you let yourself down as well.

ANYWAY

LOL.. I liked this one, nice imagery and a very good point.

Most of us go to our grave with our music still inside of us.
