Ah yes,
the headiness
of young love,
where every missed chance
means darkness has engulfed the world;
where every happenstance
equals the sum total of all before
understood and calculified
for maximum import.

(chuckling) My thinks perhaps there is a bit of sarcasm in this piece...tired perhaps of the over stated and under thought?

nice vocabulary by the way....

Hi, Ron. Nice to see you.

Yep, pretty much. It's just, so much poetry is about Love,
but so few actually know it
(to the point of capitalizing Love).

Romanticizing a complex series of ideas, memories, thoughts, emotions, scents, tastes, moments, words and shared dreams
into one compact black-and-white image
is nice and all,
but it sure don't say much.

Anyways..I like this. I really do. I read it with and without sarcasm. It works either way I think.

"two hearts will build the foundation for one point of light
a duet done with passion"

No, Jenn. You're too good to fall in that trap. Your writing is like looking at the brocade on curtains in the sun, moved by a wind of breath.

And actually, the intent isn't sarcastic when I wrote the poem. It's just, the subject matter itself already is. If that makes any sense.

Keep writing your awesome poetry. I'll be sure to keep readin' it.

brian,
Young love feels so infinite,
which makes it strange
that it is finite.

And, for something so infinite,
it is also strange
that every fight feels like the end;
that every kiss feels like the beginning.

Ah,
sweet
sweet
fools.
