Wall Tracings
2002 C.G. Ward

life jumps around the corners
as if time
could be nothing more
than an impression
buried beneath wall tracings
that live in our memories

I like how this poem jumps around the corners, too. Satisfyingly deep, and yet fragile enough to take a sledgehammer to and give the resulting pieces to yr friends as Christmas gifts. Oh my, I need to sleep.

Really enjoyed, C.

Pretty good, Chris.  I like the combined image of jumping around corners and walls... which go well together (walls have corners!).  Altogether this was almost an extended metaphor in terms of the imagery used.  Very nice work.

I love this part, especailly. Short but sweet... I was never good at 'compact poetry'. I have to go on and on and on... but you, my friend, have a little something called talent.

oh i loved the imagery in this one.

i do feel it could have used some punctuation, as some spots seemed to beg for a pause.  but you know me and punctuation.

/jen/

i'm so bitterly disappointed.  betty, i think it's time you leave now.

Ah Chris, as good as ever.  I envy someone who can say so much using so little...wonderful use of language.  I'm impressed, my friend.
