We Held Your Hand

We hearkened to resounds of heavenís whispering
Your name, beheld in countenance of sovereign Grace.
We held your hand until we heard the angels sing

In harmonies melodic as the spawn of spring,
Extolling visions of a hallowed time and place.
We hearkened to resounds of heavenís whispering

A song so sweet, our yearning hearts envisioning
Your dancing blithefully about celestial space.
We held your hand until we heard the angels sing

Songs of release from burdens earthly trek may bring,
Our visions with the stars to see your joyous face.
We hearkened to resounds of heavenís whispering.

Bequeathing now our hold to end all suffering,
For mortal days so surely wrought in steadfast pace.
We held your hand until we heard the angels sing

One hand in ours, one touched upon seraphic wing,
Our grasp released to bind ethereal embrace.
We hearkened to resounds of heavenís whispering;
We held your hand until we heard the angels sing.

I put my comments in the workshop but you know how I feel Nan, and my heart goes out to you all.  Well done on this poem and I am sure the family respected your reading it as well.

Beautiful Nan. Your heart shows here. A very loving tribute. I'm so sorry for your loss, it's hard to lose a parent no matter how old we are at the time.
