The sepia land slumbers gently
Lulled by susurration of soughing wind
Through fingered saguaro arms
And salt cedar limbs by river bend

Lune's pale smile bastes stone loaves
Rising past irrigated lettuce field
Beyond sleeping Dole produce trucks
By day, dust and heat the yield

The Ocean to Ocean Bridge blinks
Confused by this dehydrated sea
Where sand silvered splashes cliffs
Known by none save Lune and me

How you manage to make something so hot and dry and arid,  sound so lovely by simply describing it during nighttime hours is beyond me.  Although, everything transforms into something magical when the moon comes out, eh?     Well done,  m'friend.

Alicat-
This is awesome!
I've never heard anyone make Yuma
sound so appealing...LOL.
I may just have to head over there one
of these days...it's been awhile.
Hugs,

I'm envious of the view AND your writing!
More than a look through your eyes, but a look INTO them as well. Beautiful.

Darkness hides minor imperfections
~ I’ve known that for years,
Darkness gives a new introspection
~ a calming of childish fears,

I often walk the darkened ways
Long preferred night to days
When softer light plays.

well done,
I enjoyed your night view
