Slice me a peace of REALITY,
Oh no,thatís wrong, let me try again,
Slice me a piece of really,
Dang it!Sometime expressions a Pain
Poetically speaking that is;
Sometime the words wiz
Rhyme and meter falling just so
That almost effortlessly will flow
Letting the emotions out for the telling
Only to be snagged by a silly mispelling
back to the poem
Slice me a piece of reality,
Rough cut not so pretty,
No need to wrap itRrinnng
oh, now the phone
Slice me a piece of reality,
Knock, knock, knock
I need a sanctuary
A place of peace and quiet

Gloom

Thank you, Poet deVine,
Glad you enjoyed it, but werenít you the one that was going to make me smile, oh well, as long as someone smiled and Iím sure it looks better on you than me.

Thank you, Alicat,
Pleased you were treated, I seldom think of reading poetry out loud, always have thought of a book of poetry something to curl up with before falling asleep.  Just recently, Iíve been going to a Poetry Open Mic where Iíve read some of my work.  The most noticeable thing Iíve found is my lack of talent for reading to a crowd.

I forget to come here, I get so wrapped up in open....or in prose....or in discussion....that I forget to come here, where reality can be found, sliced, or left whole...

where give and take is found in comfortable hands....

I forget to come here...

Thank you, Martie,
But Shirley you must be mistaken,
There no Humor in Gloom
Just like there is no joy in Mudville.

Thank you, Serenity,
If you wrote it, it has to be a word,
If itís properly spelled or if Daniel put it in his book
Well, thatís another question.
But heís been dead so long you canít expect him to keep up,
why I was just talking to his ghost the other dayÖ

Thank you, Sunshine,
Donít blame me, deVine got me to come here,
Said it was a slower pace and really built it down,
So naturally I had to come and see for myself.
But if youíre in the Open I guess itís better to be wrapped up
Than to be unwrapped.

Gloom
