In the space between moments

0 posted 2001-03-13 11:06 PM

A gentle wafting of repose
Clings within the scarlet hollows
Of this twisted frame of mind...
The minutes once a chaotic decadence
Now are slowing...showing sweetness
Which only a tranquillity of essence
~And the safety of your soulful eyes~
Can create.

Placid lay these weary limbs
(Which are too young for life’s torrent)
When woven in the stillness
Of your soft, delicate embrace...
And as your fingers flutter over my skin,
~Through my hair~
I exhale every bruised memory
From my spirit.

Kisses whisper upon my skin
As do your words upon my mind...
Liquid, honeyed, mellifluous
~The honesty is almost intoxicating~
And I tremble, drifting in fragrant haze
As you touch me.

I am absent from this world
And at the same time living...pulsing
Within your eyes
~The moments pause forever~
When the space between us dwindles
And we softly entwine...melding into one.

This is gorgeous, my dear. Alive with the beauty that your words seldom fail to create. I loved lines like

"Kisses whisper upon my skin
As do your words upon my mind..." and

"I am absent from this world
And at the same time living...pulsing
Within your eyes"

Those lines are so perfect... I've been there before and you paint out the feeling exquisitely. Wonderful writing, love

P.S. You made me get my dictionary with the word "melliflous"

Nicely done here. I enjoyed it........I WOULD have gotten my dictionary, but I'm just too lazy.......oh well!

Eloquent and lovely!!! I don't know why Allan and Javier had to get a dictionary though. You never fail to delight me.

I'm late, as usual, but I hope I'm not too late to put in a compliment! This is a beautiful description of a love that you are so lucky to have. I especally love the last stanza. Your writing never fails to impress, my friend. Thanks for sharing.
