A Valentine  poem--
Needing This, Wanting That

I want
a brand-spanking millenium kitchen,
equiped with brushed chrome
appliances, lacquered stone tiles
and funky, beaded light fixtures.

I need
your illuminating smile
under the water-stained
ceiling and exposed
plumbing.

I want
a boudoir; a love nest of
raw silk pillows bouncing on down
duvets, rosewood built-ins, crown moldings
and drawers full of satin lingerie.

I need
your touch, like flannel pajamas
under cotton sheets,
when the heating oil runs low.

I want
sculpted pines, cultured orchids
bordering venetian slate walkways
while the sun dries the manicured
boxwood.

I need
a daisy, tickling my nose,
plucked from the weeds
by the broken gate and
bent gutter.

I want your expensive love
done on a budget, your
million dollar look
in denim.

awwww this is adorable...and i mean it, Chanson!
Mui bonita, amiga!
It's not a case of 'settling' for something, but realizing
that wants are pieces that are satisifed a little bit at a time
of what we can emotionally afford.

what a treat this was to read.
Be well, and have a glorious day 'morrow, K?

ShadowRider-- Mucho Danke! (oops! I'm mixing languages. *grin)
Hey friend, you have a fabulous V Day too!

monique-- I'm happy you appreciate my sense of humor. I always say, "If you can't laugh, go cry in a corner" *grin* (Actually, I never say that. I just now made it up. *L*)

Hi there Victoria *s

Dripping pipes, creaky hardwood floors, not a square/level doorway to be found. I love this old house! *L*

Thanks for the visit!
