I'm sitting here, just thinking-
Wishing I could turn back time.
Maybe twenty years or so,
When I was in my prime.

You were rather young then-
But that would be okay,
I think I'd try to win you-
And then take you away.

Way up in the mountains-
Belwo the timber line...
And build a cozy cabin,
'Twould be just yours and mine.

There you could learn to love me-
I really think you could.
And as you knew me better,
I'm certain that you would.

Children, if you wanted-
I'd teach them how to live...
As one with nature's wildness-
She has so much to give.

We'd spend our lives together-
Till parted by my death...
I'd whisper, "I still love you."
With my final, fading breath.

i liked this. Not even death can overcome true love.. nothing can

God alone is alone. Man is not.

have been away from the forums for some time and just browsing. Came across this meaningful expression of opportunity missed with its intrinsic heartache and mellowed affection and feel simpatico.. well done sir:
All the  while listening to Bobby  Mcferrins  rendition  of "Common Threads" from the TV series "Northern Exposure"
  Recommend it...
