Easing the Burden
By Larry Chadwick

I see the signs of a broken heart,
They’re around us every day.
It seems we try to ignore it,
In the hopes it’ll go away.

But these people are brave,
And they know how to cope.
They write lots of poetry,
To honor the lost folks.

Heart break is revealed,
In the loss of those so dear.
Mothers, Fathers and brothers,
Sisters, sons and daughters.

It really doesn’t matter much,
If they’re old or quite young.
The loss though less fair,
Is hard regardless of the one.

We would do well not to wait,
For more poetry to be our new clue.
Look around and read some more,
Pretty soon you know just who.

So maybe it is time to reach out,
And offer a consoling thought.
I know that Floria and Lyra,
Have lost an awful lot.

I’ll confess I don’t know the words,
That work magic in your heart.
But I do know it pains even me,
That too early your loved ones did depart.

Though it won’t be expressed very much,
It will always be present for me as you.
That every day the loss is the same,
And everyday you think of them too.

Our prayers go up for you and all others,
Who have lost their loved ones so dear.
And more courage I hope you’ll gain,
When your burden we share right here.

It isn't an easy subject...but I care.

Larry C.

Thank you for doing this for all of us...
I believe you have perfectly penned my own
thoughts as well...And yes, my heart goes
out to both of them,  and to any others
who feel the same pain of their loss..

Thank You Larry

This is great Larry. Loss is so very hard to cope with, writing helps a bit, so does sharing. You’ve penned this with a great deal of understanding. Very nicely done

To all: Seldom am I speechless, grief is one time and gratitude is another. Thank you, each one, so very much.

Tara,
Speaking of kind and uplifting words...look at you! Thank you.

Lyra,
If only...if only the need for this poem didn't exist. Someday, dear friend, someday.

Magnus,
I know there are more I'm just not sure who. Thank you.

Tracey,
Thank you for you kind words and your friendship.

Larry, I cannot speak as I am crying. This is the most touching thing that you have done. And I know that in your heart you can feel how much I appreciate all your kindness. Thank you, humbly, floria

floria,
Being a father gives me some understanding...I truly wish there were something I could do. But you have the one thing that you need...God. Peace and love dear friend.
