My Heart Breaks Regularly

My heart breaks regularly as I meet each season
more so, as I recall the reason
the child to whom I once gave life
no longer here, my world in strife
this child to whom I once gave birth
his body buried in soft earth

my heart breaks regularly, I miss him so
too young he was, too young to go
filled with promise for tomorrow
for him, my heart now aches with sorrow
plans and dreams he'll never see
a sunny future never to be

my heart breaks regularly, I want him back
a world so bright, now turned to black
his big smile and his messed up hair
a memory now, in photos I share
I want all the world to know
this handsome young man, I loved him so

my heart breaks regularly, I was so proud
my grownup son, I'd say out loud
bright promises for a wonderful life
two little daughters and a beautiful wife
never to feel his warmth again
and so, because of our shared pain
my heart breaks regularly

Lyra,
I wrote this poem tonight that seems to be an incomplete response to this poem of yours. I would love to see a picture of your boys. I love kids and am so sorry you lost one of yours. I hope you don't mind I placed this link in here. If it's a problem let me know and I can remove it.

(tears fall down my cheeks) Oh Lyra, this is so very sad, my heart goes out to you and your family, for I know how hard it must feel to lose someone so young, and can understand your tears! (BIG HUGGGSSSSS) Hold on, for I know deep down that he will always be in your heart and he will always guide you with his love! (sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much, my heart goes out to you! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Lyra, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Lyra...this is sad...but it is also very
powerfully beautiful....Your ability to
write of him...and do it so well...shows
the courage you have had in your own dealing
with his loss...

Thank you for sharing this with me...

Yes Lyra, I know, it breaks regularly, How very well you expressed your feelings here, It never ends does it. There is always something to remind us, to tear our hearts right open again. I am sorry for your grief, from one mother who has lost to another. floria

Yes, my heart would break too. What a tragic loss, no mother should have to experience this. I’m sure your angel son cherishes the time he had with you, as you do. So heartfelt Lyra

Theres no problem with having the link here.

Lyra, Madame, what is more important...nothing i think, then our own blood, nor binds our hearts more than our own.  My gosh, throat tightened, eyes blurred....

amazing writing as the words streamed from
the page as every parent holds them, and thoughts of your pain, dear to them.
In more ways than one, this are vital
messages for all of us.

Thanks so much for your reply, Ethan...My heart still has not healed over this one.
Losing a child is probably the most painful heartbreak of all......I don't think it ever really heals.
