~Rhymed Release~

"Go after him," she pleaded.
"How can you just let him walk away?"
"He was never mine to have," I replied.
"So how can I expect him to stay?"
Still she stared at me in disbelief.
"But he was your reason to rhyme,
you desired him and found your inspire in him,
how can you give that up after all this time?"

So I tried to make her understand --
some things can still be held on to,
even while being let go.
"I can set him free and still save a part for me,
the memories keep the ache burning slow."
Still she protested away in hope of sway ...
"I know he would stay if you asked him to.
I think you're making a mistake,
one of these days, your heart's going to break ...
then there will be no poetry left inside of you"

I realized the true reason for her tears,
I tried to calm her self doubt inspired fears.
"My muse, my twin, my reflection in pen,
I will always hold that part of him.
He was our divine moment in time ...
our taste of something fine.
He'll always be our reason to rhyme --
our season of kind, and must I remind?
We will always have the traces left behind."

"But now we need to set him free,
let him be all he needs be.
Don't you see? It's our way to let him know ...
the only way to show ...  just how much he meant,
to thank him for the time he spent." (the moments of content)
She seemed to finally understand, then taking pen in hand.
"He will always be our pen's fascination, our inspiration ...
he'll always command our admiration"
I smiled, recalling the anticipation.
"Yes, my muse ... our aching temptation."

So we lit a candle and coerced a verse,
we set him free (and me) in rhymed reverse.
Knowing he will always be our ink's immerse ...
our pen's prized poetic curse.
Oh this one ... we'll not soon forget,
No this one ... we'll not ever regret.

Janet Marie

~Dusk To Dawn~

If my missing you could light the night ...
my skies would glimmer in emerald glow.
If my love for you could set the sun ...
then eventide would be all we know.

If my need for you could make it rain ...
the clouds would never again be dry.
If my devotion to you could pull the tides ...
the oceans would rise and baptize the sky.

If my ache for you could hang the moon ...
there would be no need for morn to rise.
If my wishes for you could blow out the stars ...
then the moon would echo my lonely cries.

You are my every dusk and dawn ...
my night's ebony end ... my day's blue hued begin.
Closing my eyes ... unto the skies, this wish I send ...
I would give every new sunrise ... just to hold you once again.

Janet Marie
for DeVante' ... always my light.

You speak to me in riddles and you speak to me in rhymes.
My body aches to breathe your breath ... your words keep me alive.

Oh my!  What an amazing write!  I loved the conversation format..and the differing within the mirror of yourself.  Wonderful to see inspire in your pen, my friend..where it always will be dipped in the heart's well.

"You are my every dusk and dawn ...

Closing my eyes ... unto the skies, this wish I send ...

Your love for De Vante' is such an inspiration!  A reflection of a bright star that many would give much to hold, even with the burn.

This is deliciously YOU. I am saving this, and I will e mail you later. Somehow this one hit me personally!

Could I send in my muze to be taught,
Or just borrow yours for a while?
I've always known what poet you were
This verse made me forgot to smile.

My lower jaw just sank down in Ahhhh,
And I sat here gasping for air.
Sweet Janet Marie you're a treat to us all,
It had to be said because fair is fair.

Thank you sweet lady

JM,
I am jealous of the ghost and host
And jealous of the very post
And tearful that my butterfly
Is grounded and she cannot fly.
I grieve over the abyss of night
And the loss of her golden light
I am human to her tune and croon
And human to her alters rune.
And I cannot comfort her with time
For I am near the end of rhyme
But I bless you from a heart grown old
And bless you with my Randy’s bold
I cannot take DeVante’s place
I offer you but souls of lace.
To lay your head upon my breast
And listen to my song of rest.
My velvet glove is made of love
On the wings of a gentle dove.

My Dearest Sy ... my "Stinkylove" ...
Your words wrap me in versed velvet glove.
Let me make this very clear ...
Come closer so I can whisper in your ear.
You do comfort me with your rhyme divine,
To be your muse is time spent sublime.

You need not haste or waste worry on jealousy,
For you mean so very much to me.
'Tis not a matter of "replace," though laced with trace ...
My heart still has more than enough space.
Never doubt the depth of measure in which I treasure you,
For all that you are and all that you do.
You've made me the queen of your Camelot ...
You make me believe I can be all that I am not.
I'll hear no more told of a "heart grown old"
In your heart of gold, I've come in from the cold.
My poetry is where I sigh and cry,
It may read sad and bring a tear to thy eye.
But worry not for me ... my winkielove ...
For I have known love that shines from so high above.
As long as I warm my wings in that glorious light,
As long as we keep trust in sight ... I know that we will be all right.

Soon we will fly in tune to the moon and kiss with bliss the satin sky ...
You see, I'm no longer afraid to try, for you turned this moth into a butterfly.

You have given such beautiful, thoughtful responses to my poetry and it is so rarely that I can respond to yours.  Somehow, I want to make this special.
I almost lost someone just a few days ago.  Someone who may have then become my DeVante'.  A love of a lifetime...lost.  But somehow, someway, the gods shined on me and I was granted a dream I never deserved.
I understand the letting go that you wrote of here.  I wasn't prepared to do so...but I was resigned to the reality that would require it.  But then, dreams really did come true.
Thank you, Janet Marie for the unending love you still write of.  It is most appreciated by this poet.

Beautiful writing Janet!

I love the internal argument....it's impacts the mind of the reader. We all talk to ourselves constantly and this is a jewell of inner conversation.
The inspiration catches on like wildfire!!

Love this line..
"we set him free (and me) in rhymed reverse"

Duncan...*shaking my head and smiling at you* ...
trust me ... you DID "make it special" ... and I thank you for this, for I truly felt the sincerety of your words, and the kindness of your intend. He was a once in a lifetime love...and one of the most important things I learned from him is.. we ALL deserve to be loved like this. You are included in that. See yourself thru her eyes...and you will understand and be able to accept that part of you. I am so happy that you got your wish, and a second chance. Your poetry to each other has touched me. Best wishes to you both. Thank you very much for this reply Duncan...I was just about to sign off when it came up... so now I will retire with a smile on my face.

This is so beautiful JM. He certainly does inspire your pen to soar, along with your heart. I understand the loss of a true love, for I once thought too, that no one could take his place. But, I have discovered that I can love again with that same depth…and I think you will too sweet poetess. Btw, sy’s response, and yours to him, nearly brought a tear to my eye. What wonderful inspiration you both are to each other…I love reading both of your words on these pages. They always bring a smile to this reader.

I took out the crying smilie, you are so right, to see these words from you are truly something to celebrate as you celebrate him.  Oh, and the reason the muse only comes one a month or so is it "knows" we wait, and anything worth having is worth waiting for

I did that in Paintshop JM.

"If my ache for you could hang the moon ...

oooooo that IS poetry. i love that.
but the first one... "Rhymed Release" that is quite possibly my favorite i've read from you to date.
the internal rhymes and the rhythm is brilliant!
but the message is by far...oh my... how can i find the right words to encapsulate your wisdom...
letting someone go to be what they must is the kind of love we should all be able to experienec once in our lives. it's hard to see how letting go defines a boundless love....but you are not only caring, but wise in doing so.
two and 1/2 years ago i would have understood, but probably not agreed.
it is hard to learn that people change. these words prove it.
wonderful, as always, my inspiration.
i dig it!!!!

'So I tried to make her understand --
some things can still be held on to,
even while being let go.

the memories keep the ache burning slow." '

'If my ache for you could hang the moon ...
there would be no need for morn to rise.
If my wishes for you could blow out the stars ...
then the moon would echo my lonely cries.'

Amazing and breathtaking as always, J...always great to read your flawless rhyme and cadence...and the emotion throughout--well, that just speaks for itself...your writing always does the feeling true justice...fantastic, J!

I suppose nothing more can be added that hasn't been said already. A very beautiful poem that I know came straight from the heart. Couldn't help but ~~sigh~~ all the way through. Best to you, and thank you for sharing it!

For a relatively prompt person, I can sure drag in late, can't I? *S*

But even if I'd read this immediately, I'd still be at a loss for words that would do it justice. Dusk to Dawn had impressed me so much... I'm glad you decided to post it.*S* And you paired it perfectly with Rhymed Release... the varying styles show the depth of your talent as clearly as the words show your heart.

Absolutely wonderful. *S*
