The Value of Friendship
By Larry Chadwick

I have a dear friend from long ago,
Who taught me a lot about life.
But what benefited me the most,
Was what she taught me about strife.

We would often seem to disagree,
And tell each other vociferously.
Then when we were finally done,
She would still be friends with me.

Arm in arm we would walk away,
Laughing at some joke together.
Conflict wasn’t the end at all,
Just a part of friendships weather.

February 10, 2002

Vi Scott...I miss you and will always love you! lc

Real friendships stay in tact even through
the ups and downs. We learn to accept
the good with the bad, and most of all we agree to disagree.
To me, it's when we learn to bend that we bond even closer.
I think that's the way it's supposed to be.
We're idividuals after all.

Always a good message from you Larry.

Friendships weather...cool way to put it, Larry.  Everyone should have a friend like this.

Larry,
this is a good poem about the strengths of friendship. It's great when you can disagree and it doesn't change the relationship.

So many people don't understand the true value of friendship.  I like this, Larry.

(smiles) Sooooooo beautifully said, sweet friend, as long as friends can weather each of the obstacles that stand before them, friendship will always be true! (big hugggsssss) I love it, sweet friend, this is soooooooo beautiful, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Larry, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

i don't wanna be a skipping CD and repeat all the above...
but this is well written and shares an excellent, valued point.

that's what friendship is all about. spitting fire at each other...then dropping it to tell your latest joke.

"There he goes.
One of god's own prototypes.
Some mutated experiment never
considered for mass production.
Too strange to live.
Too rare to die."

For all who watch.Dare you say hello? Come in and ask the questions that are on your mind, but spare me your judgement until you truly sipped of me.

True friends are rare and wonderful, Larry.
They say that a true friend is someone who knows all about you and loves you anyway.
I really liked your poem!

"Thou shalt not judged"....A true friend never goes there.

Nothing hurts mire than investing all of that trust and love into someone who isn't what you descibed in your poem.  This is a beautiful tribute to a woman who sounds very special.

A good friend is more valuable than all the money, success, freedom in the world.

I really liked this much!!

Hello Larry

How very true are these words you write and such an important part of any friendship.  To feel comfortable with a person one must be able to say what he/she feels even if the other disagrees.

Take care......Sue
