state of confusion

In The House

When an archdiocese
turns its collective head
to ignore decades of vitiation
against youths
of its congregation,

the devil
flicks the Eucharist
upon tongues
and gathers coins
after communion.

Man, that hit me hard!  Corinne, all these stories bit my soul with huge teeth,
being Catholic.  In a trusted position, what greater sin can there be, to take
advantage of youth in such a way??

Perfectly written, and something that needed to be said.
I am happy it was you that wrote it.

OUCH - the one has a definate, and poignant, sting to it.  A harsh subject, but one that took way to long in coming to light.

Well done,

(tears fall down my cheeks) Oh dear, this is terrible, my heart goes out to all these children whose abuse went unreported then, this is such a heartaching subject indeed! (big hugggsssssss) We all love you so much, sweet friend, this is so sad but poignant! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Corrine, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Well...I like it. From you, there is always a straightforward truth in your writing.

I think the whole thing would severely shake my faith if I were of this religion. I'd be reconsidering everyone and everything I'd ever been taught.

For all who watch.Dare you say hello? Come in and ask the questions that are on your mind, but spare me your judgement until you truly sipped of me.

Thank you all for commenting. I realize this might make some folks angry, let me just say that I am Catholic and hold no grudges against the Church, but this situation does shake the house to its core.

One of the biggest tragedies of this is how it affects the faith of the victims.  To identify the abuse with God is the greatest shame.

Corinne

A violation of trust and faith is hard to forgive...even knowing that a man of the cloth is also human.  You have written well of this situation.

*sigh* I was raised Catholic and to learned of so much of this kind of thing broke my heart...but one thing I do know...God is not these people who did it...it was not God who lead them to this kind of abuse...I am so glad you wrote this poem...it is what needed to be said...One cannot just the church by the actions of people but should be able to see beyond to the truth and love that is taught...*grin* I am no longer Catholic but did not leave because of things like this...**big hugs**

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.
