I breath - do you?
Each breath - my right or a gift?
My right, as it is yours?
A gift, as it sustains life -
Life being a gift given by our Creator.

I hurt - do you?
Do you too feel the sting
of a cruel word;
the anguish of a malicious action?

And love - do you know it too?
It's tenderness; it's passion;
it's warmth; it's friendship;
it's devotion....

I am of flesh and blood.
My flesh - it may wound;
and from that wound warm, wet, red blood may flow.
That wound may burn.
Is it the same with you?

Then would it be correct to say
that we are created in one likeness -
yet each with our unique characteristics
that allows us to be identified at individuals.
Individuals - who breath to sustain life.
Individuals - who hurt, who love.
Individuals wrapped up in a complexity of emotions;
a psyche that constitutes us Human.

Then, as Humans, should we not accept one another as individuals
and together strive to protect and uphold our Human Rights,
as one.

Human needs are universal,
we've the capacity to love and bleed.
Gifts are given and taken away.
We can only strive to be the
very best we can be.

It's just another day in paradise.

How very true, and well written.

if only we all thought like this.

"There he goes.
One of god's own prototypes.
Some mutated experiment never
considered for mass production.
Too strange to live.
Too rare to die."

Dee, truer words were never spoken, there is so much truth in this piece, I read and savored each word, as my friend is going through a rough time with prejudice, this was very meaningful to me. thank you. floria
