Matters of the Heart
By Larry Chadwick

I went to see an expert,
About the matters of my heart.
Had to schedule an appointment
To meet with Doctor Stark.

She thinks I’ll be all right,
If I will follow her advice.
But thought I should come again,
It couldn’t hurt to do this twice.

It’s good to hear nice things,
When they’re spoken about you.
The Doctor figures I’m okay,
And so now I’m happy too.

But once a year is quite enough,
When I think about her bill.
Imagine paying for the torture,
Of walking on her tread mill.

She gave me fairly good odds,
They’re 95 per cent...that’s neat.
That for another year at least,
My heart will continue with its beat.

Larry C,
Good advice, just make a tape and play it back once a year and you'll save some money.
LOL Enjoyed

Those tests really suck!  But sometimes paying the bill is worth the relief we get from the bill of good health!

Larry,
it's nice to see you're off the treadmill and ticking along ok. Does that mean we get to see more of your poetry...I hope so.

floria,
No dye. Treadmill and ultrasound! But every year. And you're right, it is a good idea.

Lauren,
Thanks. I didn't consider the "pity factor" in this poem. Oops.

Victoria,
Mine is in storage in another state. I hate that! lol Thanks.

Sy,
LOL Now why didn't I think of that? Thanks.

Vandana,
Thanks.

Lori,
Really? No pressure I presume! LOL Thanks.

Kat,
Yup...indeed. Good point! Thanks.

Noah,
It's my age...and once a year on a treadmill hardly counts as excersize! LOL Thanks.

Nancy Lee,
Thanks! Made me feel better.

James,
You gotta a point there...LOL Thanks.
