Our lady of the harbor
warmth radiates from her crown
a torch of liberty in her hand
refuge lives in the folds of her gown

a symbol of freedom and peace
a precious gift from across the sea
on her own little island, she stands proud
introducing the land of the free

she welcomes those seeking asylum
tossed about by the storms of the sea
as they arrive at the home of the brave
and the melting pot of the free

to those escaping from lands of strife
Ms. Liberty signals a brand new life

Lyra - Such a great tribute to lady liberty and this great country.  Very good.

As you know, I work right near Battery Park, where there is an excellent view of that fabulous lady.

Wow,
this poem, the Liberty Bell and the lady all symbols of American beauty.
