How Long Did It Take You To Get That Ugly?

Your words, on the edge of bite
Spoken in anger, born of spite
Faces smiling but underneath
Feel the knife drawn from your sheath

With care for no one, you spoke
Venom, you chose to invoke
spewed words of insinuation
rhymes held your accusation

Now all I ask is how long did it take
To get that ugly, for heaven’s sake
And why show that side to me
Lying in wait in your poetry.

======================================

I have thought this many times...
it so saddens me to see words become weapons.
Poetry shouldnt be "ugly" ... but then neither should poets.
Well done Poetess Divine ... thanks for the remind.

You speak to me in riddles and you speak to me in rhymes.
My body aches to breathe your breath ... your words keep me alive.

(big hugggsssssss) Oh my gosh, I know just how you feel, it too saddens me when words can get real messy and can hurt others and libel them so very much! (sad sigh) So sad but wonderfully written, sweet friend, we all love you so much, I remember this wonderful challenge too! (kiss on cheek) You have such a beautiful heart, sweet friend, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

I remember this challenge,
And you returned to it with fine form.

I could truly identify with this,
It could have been written about me.

It took me more than several years
With many comments and ugly jeers
.
