True Love
By Larry Chadwick

It was love at first sight,
Smitten by her looks.
I wasn’t chauvinistic,
She could carry my books.

I knew I had to have her,
And I knew exactly what it took.
So I reached into my pocket,
And pulled out my checkbook.

The beginning of a love affair,
That would sometimes lead to hate.
But I had to have that (’55) Chevy,
How else could I have a good date?

Cute poem, Larry...but you are really DATING yourself.  I don't know about you, but I was much too young to even THINK about driving in 1955, and I am OLD!

You've been writing some good nostalgia lately.
I'm not sure if it makes me feel older or younger.

I can almost picture you reving your engine up for all the girls.

Lots of good vibes in this Larry~

I know this feeling so well Larry. The day I bought the Lotus, I had no intentions of buying a car...I had just gone to the car show to see about getting stuff for the MG. But that car was there..for sale..and I just had to have it. Sometimes, you just have to follow your heart, right??

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?
