I held you in my soul
While telling you good bye
Saving my tears
To privately cry

I held you in my heart
So I could set you free
grateful for the time I had
When you were here,with me

I held you in my mind
Kept safe in memory
More loving thoughts
Could never be

I held you in my ink
With words of rhyme
To share pieces of you
…..a love once sublime

SEA, this is so sweetly sad. I like the graphic you used with it--the lone tree reminded me of someone standing by themselves and watching their lover, now ex-lover, walk away from them. Very nicely done.

Sue, this is very beautiful, yet sad with longing.  I like the repetition of the title in the first line of each stanza.  Lovely...lovely indeed.
Hugs to you sweetie.

Life is a beach, and then some!
I like the idea that the moon regulates
the tides and enables us to flow with it.
Like we have a choice!   It's the time
we spend that truly matters.
Thank you SEA for sharing your heart.

and I surely know this feeling ..

what you wrote (for me) was very healing

What a beautiful work of art, both the picture and the poetry reenforcing an emotional moment. This one flows with the rhythm of the tides.

What a beautiful piece!  The first stanza reminded me of that song from Grease, one of my. lines "to cry in front of you that's the worst thing i can do."  Gave me a lot to ponder and remember before I go to bed.  Thanks for sharing!

Susan

This is so beautiful and haunting. Whoever this poem was about.. they were lucky to have you in their life.  And I'm sure you are still in their heart.

Hugs to you,
