Just a traveling fair, it's true
but in Del Mar, it's special, too.
From miles around the people come
I must confess that I was one.

They have the usual fair treats
designed to be diets defeat
fried bread, and cotton candy too
hot curly fries, and some things new.

And music, many well known bands
come to Del Mar across the land
you can go sit and listen free
if crowds don't push you to your knees.

To me, the nicest spot of all
sitting on Ferris Wheel so tall
to gaze far out across the sea
it's just the perfect ride for me.

The wind blows gently all around
and up so high, there's not a sound
just beauty laid out far below
the Del Mar fair-the place to go.

You're so right.  I never used to miss it.
I remember the "dancing waters" most.

There's nothing wrong with smooching while on the ferris wheel, either!

Sandra~ Are you referring to the Del Mar fair in San Diego county?  My "Pappy" used to take me every year when I was a kid, way back when!!
The top of the ferris wheel is definitely the place to be.

I loved this!!

A nice, happy, uplifting poem, Sandra...
I am terrified of ferris wheels, but I love carousels. so I am sending you one right here.
