My dear friend you may be older
But the years I’ve spent with you
Will always bring a smile to my face
Just like the one I‘stuck’ on you.

These ears will hear the laughter
Though you can’t hear it with me
But somehow yours went missing
Somewhere in the old pantry

Your body may rot now and then
If not changed out in time
But I remember playing with you
And so, I pen this rhyme

Many hours of pleasure were had
Making a new man out of you
Each time I played with your sweet head
You became someone brand new

As you celebrate this fiftieth year
Accept all accolades as said
You are a man who daily changes
Happy Birthday Mr. Potato Head

Believe it or not he got passed down to a second generation in our house and is still withstanding the mistreatment. Oh this was just too cute and I sent it to my family.  He is a great toy even at 50 years old.

Wow! Poet deVine, you are indeed a wonderfully creative poet. A terrific delicious steaming hot masterful meal  prepared perfectly in your poetic oven. You are terrific and I love your poem. PS: I'm called Noodles by my great grandson, but don't tell anyone. Shush!

She’s just a girl with everything
Nice house, fast car, good friends
Clothes the envy of any model
Perfect hair. Look no split ends!

Adored by the masses you see
She creates riots in the mall
Everyone wants a piece of her
She’s a perfect little doll.

Ladies, go seek in your closet
The version you stashed there
Men, just sit back and think
About her long blonde hair

Today, she celebrates a birthday
Can a girl really tell her age?
Happy Birthday Barbie
You get better as you age
