Gardening Sorrows
~*Marge Tindal*~

Among the rows of blooming flower
rise moistened-mounds in sorrow's hour
Tilled and toiled until they lay
drenched in tears upon the day~

Shed of dread in teardrops spread
among the wilting of flowers' bed
Harvested sorrow of yesteryear's bouquet
fragranced-memories within the heart lay~

Memories kept in seeded bloom
planted in the heart's garden room
Please, please, come again Spring
with the blossoming that his memories bring~

*For my sister, Lori, in remembrance of Dr. Kent A. DeLong

Hmmmm...I liked this! Sad---I didn't read the last part the first time over. But I got the message...*sigh*

And I agree...sad, depressing peices tend to be the best. Beautifully sad....

Others are too in love with the sound of their own voice to speak the truth...

Yes ... the calendar-time seems short,
yet the heart-time passes very slowly~
I don't know about that 'healing' thing ...
but, I would pray it's so~

Delicate flowers need special attention, and sorrows are the clouds that block our sun and drown our thirsts.
I felt each line, each drop.
Well written and well heard.

Time may make grief less wrenching
But years still find tears drenching
Everything around at the thought of the loss...
Love is forever on hearts embossed.

Marge, you've written this beauty  with love and tenderness and caring and understanding... I'm sure Lori will treasure this touching tribute. Hugs for you both. *S*
