This is me.
No second voice or
pretend speaker
can convey
what you really feel like
in my sleep
on the paper
under my skin.

This is blood writing.
How else can I
get you out of my system
cure the illness
purge the pain caused
by hollow promises and
hollow pillows where
your memory continues
to leave me cold.

This is giving birth.
It hurts to push
and it hurts to breath
it hurts deep inside where
the part you left me
refuses to leave and
I'm ripping apart slowly.

This is the truth.
Never read my ink tears
and convince yourself
that it's only practice or
bored musings
to fill this empty space.
The next time you
stumble across
my poetry let it
be this one and
let it hurt,
because for once
this is me.

"Glory remains unaware of my neglected dwelling where alone
I sing my tearful song which has charms only for me."

I would say this is powerfully you. The truth the only way you know how to tell it, Lady. I love this.
