so i write silence on deep water
swirl my darkness with a finger
into the amber depths of a teacup
as if making a rite of it
was itself a passage into final
acceptance
for absent friends i could have
brought along with me to
this moment.
perhaps i would now
be less alone
certainly more forgiving, more
tolerant of the cruel swaths
that other people leave
leaving

so i write silence on deep water
leaving a telltale
like an instant realization soon
gone...
seems only fitting that i leave
a track for others to forget me

A very sad poem.  It's not everyone that will take time to ripple the water, but once the ripple is made, they are never forgotten...

looking forward to more!
