Last Sigh

Why this pain and sorrow
What more must I live
Mind held in torture
Heart unable to forgive

Should life not share a balance
Equals of both good and bad
Can’t remember any laughter
Only thoughts of being sad

Sinus burns in constant weep
Gut clenches tight each sob
Heart pounds its empty chambers
Mind bruised by its ceaseless throb

Darkness swallows every promise
Senses numb emotion’s pour
As legs begin to weaken
Body softly finds the floor

Sight and senses gently fading
Hard floor contours my lie
Pain and sadness ebbing
Imprisoned in last sigh

Brian, I felt every single word of this powerfully sad poem. I have also experienced this feeling, been there and don't like it. I do hope it is not a feeling you have today. It is so powerful and so sad. Great fantastic write. floria

brian--

Beautifull written emotive poem of sadness.  Yes, there should be a balance...usually is, but when you feel down, it's difficult to remember the up.  Take care.
