Finding Your Worth
By Larry Chadwick

When you’ve lost what you are worth,
And you are not sure where it is found.
Don’t give up and embrace despair,
For fear that by chains you are bound.

And if you seek it in those around you,
It is deception that you may court.
For they may prey on your lack of faith,
Substituting dependence as your last resort.

Eventually their purpose will certainly fail,
For the fraud of pretending to hold your worth.
Instead they have delayed your goal,
Of accomplishing your own rebirth.

In offering you what they don’t possess,
Their selfishness is fully exposed.
Rather look inside for what you seek,
And you will eventually find your repose.

Martin,
You are so right. It is such a big issue here at PIPs. At least in some of the poetry I read. Thanks.

Lauren,
Thank you so much. It is a huge issue for me. I have been, in the past, given the burden of possessing the worth of another and couldn't provide her what she didn't have. Very sad.

amusemi,
Glad to be of some meaningful use. Maybe all those years of our experience will finally pay off. LOL Thanks.

Ethan,
So true...Thanks.
