There are many ways
to drown
to fall

but this is different
to fall upwards
while breathing
while wanting
to hold my thoughts
inside me

until I reach the highest point
and sing as an angel
in burst of outward purge
instead of gasping inward
to save my own soul

knowing
you are just a cloud away
and smile upon me

within broken sky
of particles feathering
in vermilion wanes
Slighting doubt
with the thunder
of your hunger

giving birth to queens
with daggers to their breasts

because you saved
but a reckless fallen minstrel
upon sward of silent footfall
and gave me rest

by dragging me from stampedes
of usual demons
harboring me within the shadows
while you slowly made love
to my curiosity

as you slowly became taken by it

with each breath being just
another gust
beneath me

SEE ... THIS is exactly what I am talking about ... you always find the fresh new way to say whats been said in poetry till its been made cliche' ....

HOW many times have I pondered a new way to say "the wind beneath my wings" ....
and there YOU are...and there it is...

with each breath being just
another gust
beneath me

FRESH ... UNIQUE ... ORIGINAL ... REGINA

Your muse is a treasure... and a pleasure
this is more outstanding with every read.
very very cool write Poetess R.
Hey...Im getting used to poet envy...green goes good with me brown eyes. LOL

You speak to me in riddles and you speak to me in rhymes.
My body aches to breathe your breath ... your words keep me alive.

Regina, I am at a loss...this is fantastic.
No cliches', wonderful metaphores...really great work.

I DID pick a favorite few lines

harboring me within the shadows
while you slowly made love
to my curiosity

as you slowly became taken by it

with each breath being just
another gust

wow. I love this.
beneath me

This is the first time I have read your poetry, Regina...but from now on, I'll make sure to look for it.
The whole poem is awesome, but I especially loved these words.

until I reach the highest point
and sing as an angel
in burst of outward purge
instead of gasping inward
to save my own soul

Happy Anniversary!

The romance shown in your words are very powerful, filling this readers mind with a multitude of visuals.

It is difficult to pick just one favorite line for I have many but certainly the ending is the best:

"with each breath being just
another gust
beneath me"

Equisite write dear lady ... greatly enjoyed.
