The Eye of My Storm

I look upon a troubled sea
And feel it's turmoil deep in me.
I see the waters tossed about
By angry winds that scream and shout.

The storm outside is dark and bleak.
The storm inside me makes me weak.
I cannot calm the sea alone,
Nor hush the wind's cry with my own.

I humbly kneel upon the ground
With silent plea, "Don't let me drown."
I feel a calmness start within,
Sense a lessening of the din.

He didn't make the storm depart.
He put acceptance in my heart.

I like this very much. It illustrates how it's not so much the situation as our PERCEPTION of it that is the most important...well done, and WELCOME!

shirl,
cross the floor and join with us
we'll give you hugs without a fuss
come right in and welcome friend
we hope you'll stay here to the end
with writes like this I'm sure you'll form
friends to guide through every storm
and if perchance you should stay
email me and we can play.

shirl, I must thank YOU...in my own warped version of things as they be, it just dawned on me the comparisons of your philosophy to both psychology and the Catholic rites of exorcism--both must recognize the cause (or name of the demon) before progress can be made!

Welcome. I enjoyed both the presentation and the message. Yes, our perception truly is the key to where and how we seek solutions to life's problems.

Dear Shirl,
First. This is a lovely, wonderful poem. Touching and strengthening. Second. Where have you been? I haven't seen you at Moontown for a month or two, and I emailed you last week and you didn't reply and I was WORRIED about you.

Thank you , Thank you, Thank you!!!
