All around,
Hit by words of cruelty
The harsh sound
Of blaming,
Not based in reality,
But maiming
The spirit
And gentle soul that’s inside,
They break it
Shattering,
Words being a club of pride,
Battering,
Bruising the soul with harsh sound.

Gloom

...and so we protect ourselves - within our own self-imposed hermitage.. safe from those who would inflict their malign upon us...

Thank you, Nan,
Sometimes it is easier to build walls, find a cave,
Or holes with nice heavy covers than to face things.
Now I didn’t say the harsh words weren’t truth,
Sometimes the truth is the most cruel of sounds.
Perhaps, silence is the harshest sound.
Glad you found something within my words to make thoughts.

and that does indeed sting.

I'm going to be re-reading these again and again..nice comparison/contrast in poetry, my friend!

Thank you, Serenity,
You are kind to notice my works and hold them in such high regard,
These three could be a set if you like
Soft Words, Harsh Words & Hot and Cold Running Silence,
All similar in style,
But then I blandly write in similar styles anyway.

Thank you, Sunshine,
No higher compliment than to say I made you feel
With my humble words.

(big hugggssssss) So very sad but true, sweet friend, we can always be put on by such peer pressure, but as long as we hold the shield of our hearts trong and be loyal to our dreams and ambitions, we will always dodge the arrows to our heart! (sigh) We all love you so much, sweet friend, these words are wonderful! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Aszard, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Ouch!  The painful slap of  penned pique.
How potent is this? Very...Very

Prof. Gloom....I "felt" every word. Like punches really. Oh how I hate harsh words. When kind loving words are so much better. This was a very interesting write. floria
