Do Not Disturb....flapping in the breeze..
Birds breaking the still of night, hunger calling.
A lazy moon setting into the distant horizon.
Surely is not a smile on his face...is it?

Candles now burned to stubs of light.
Shadows dancing on distant walls.
The sound of a solitary tick of father time.
Soft sighs flowing down stairs from above.

Remnants of a midnite snack...cheese, wine.
Coffee set to come alive later...much later.
The top of a whipped cream can standing guard.
Searching for the can to cap, wondering where.

Lazy drip of a faucet, dancing with the tick.
Whirr of a refrigerator humming a lover’s tune.
A giggle of excitement tumbles down.
Love becomes one at the stroke of Two.

Do Not Disturb waves contentedly in the breeze..
As a smiling moon sets...tipping his hat.
